I stay at home with my 3 girls, well 2 these days since the oldest just started 1st grade. For the purpose of this blog I will refer to myself as "Roxy" my husband as "Dallas" our oldest (6 years old) as "Boog", middle (3 years old) as "Bug", and our youngest (17 months old) as "Cookie" these are their nicknames for me at home so I thought I would use them in the blog world as well. Also I don't want to specify their names since there are a lot of crazy things going on in the world today I don't want them to be targeted. We have an awesome dog that we adopted from our local shelter (if you are ever looking for a pet please look at your local shelter first!) and a sweet and feisty little kitty that we also adopted from the same shelter.
Anyways I have a B.S. (Bachelor's of Science) in Accounting and Dallas has a B.S. and a M.D. (Master's Degree) in Computer Science and software development. He currently works developing software for a great little company (10 people on staff) called BlueLid Technologies and on the side a few of the guys (including the 2 bosses) work for a new branch of the company BlueLid Labs writing apps for Iphone and Android. Dallas finished his first one back in May called Reading Buddy. It's a great app for school aged children that are required to read for a certain amount of time each day and it's not able to navigate outside the program without closing it completely to prevent other activity on the device being used other than them reading.
I am going to start doing a "Tip of the Day" post about random things I find useful while caring for my children, disciplining, cooking, crafting, just whatever I have thought useful to know and either was told by someone and thought "GENIUS!" or found out the hard way as thought "Why didn't anyone ever tell me about this?!?!?" I by no means think I am an expert at any of the tips I post or in parenting but if something helped me I am more than willing to help others around me in trying to raise their own families.
